Broward County, FL – A stolen 2025 Honda Civic was successfully recovered following a coordinated investigation involving the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the Sunrise Police Department, and LoJack technology. The recovery resulted in the arrest of five suspects and the discovery of stolen vehicle parts connected to additional criminal activity.

The owner of the 2025 Honda Civic, valued at approximately $25,000 to $30,000, reported the theft to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the LoJack Call Center. Deputies promptly entered the vehicle into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), while the LoJack Call Center activated the vehicle within the LoJack Law Enforcement (LE) App, enabling real-time tracking capabilities for responding agencies.

Shortly after the theft, investigators learned that the suspect had parked the stolen Civic in a hotel parking lot. This tactic, commonly referred to as a “cool-down” period, is often used by vehicle thieves to avoid immediate detection before returning to the vehicle at a later time.

While conducting patrol operations, officers with the Sunrise Police Department located the stolen Honda Civic and notified Broward County Sheriff’s Office investigators. Detectives assumed responsibility for the case and established surveillance on the vehicle, anticipating the suspect’s return.

Their patience paid off when the suspect returned and drove the stolen Civic to a commercial business location. Detectives maintained surveillance and continued gathering evidence as the investigation developed. Based on information obtained during the operation, investigators secured a search warrant for the property.

Execution of the warrant led to the safe recovery of the stolen 2025 Honda Civic, the arrest of five suspects, and the recovery of an engine from another stolen vehicle. The coordinated effort not only returned the Civic to its owner but also disrupted additional criminal activity tied to vehicle theft operations.
